A Music Video I Like

I find Beyoncé's video for her song 'Countdown' interesting.

The video features many transitions from one scene to the next, including screen wipes and also includes split screen. The opening of the video is the artist lip synching to the track, with no editing. This is then juxtaposed with the rest of the video, as it is heavily edited. In a sequence where Beyoncé is moving her shoulders in time with the beat, her leotard changes colour several times which is an interesting choice made in post production.

Beyonce's leotard changes from yellow to orange, in time with the music.

Split screen is used frequently within the music video.

The music video contradicts the lyrics mostly. However, when Beyonce starts to sing the countdown, the images on the screen reflect the countdown. For example, Beyonce is duplicated 10 times on screen in a row - when she counts down each number, she performs a different dance move. When the countdown stops, all Beyonce's duplicates are performing the same dance move.
