Pre - Production Planning: Shot List

Although I have created an animatic which I will attempt to follow closely when I start production, it is easier and more efficient to have a detailed shot list that includes what scenes will appear in the video, as well as their context, who will star in them and the shot type. Therefore I created a shot list in order to ensure the production process occurs smoothly and successfully. I can also hand out a copy of the shot list to my actor so they can enter the production prepared and with insight as to what they will be asked to do. Production will also be more structured and it will help me to adhere to a schedule. Next, I intend to create a filming schedule and decide the order in which I will shoot my music video, as it will not be shot in chronological order.

Although I don't have to stick to the shot list exactly, it is a very useful guideline to follow. If during production I come to the conclusion that certain shots need to be altered, removed or added, the shot list does not restrict me and I have the freedom to do so.
